The most common online scams people still fall for

Honestly, this article hit a bit too close to home for me. I was reading about common online scams and remembered how a couple of years ago I almost got caught by a fake delivery message. It looked legit, had my name, even the timing made sense because I was actually waiting for a package. I only stopped because something felt slightly off with the link. Since then, I’ve been more careful, but it still feels like scammers are getting smarter every year. Do you think most people fall for these scams because they’re careless, or is it more about being tired, distracted, or just trusting by default?

Yeah, I totally get that feeling. I had a similar situation with a fake bank email when I was traveling and exhausted, so I almost clicked without thinking. What helped me was learning patterns rather than specific cases. I came across 10 Most Common Scams That Internet Users Fall For and it actually explains why these tricks work so well on normal people, not just “naive” ones. After reading stuff like that, I stopped blaming myself and started slowing down before reacting to anything urgent online.
