The COUNTIF function counts cells that meet criteria, returning the number of occurrences found. If no cells meet criteria, COUNTIF returns zero. You can use behavior directly inside an IF statement to mark values that have a zero count (i.e. values that are missing). In the example shown, the formula in G6 is:

You can also test for missing values using the MATCH function. MATCH finds the position of an item in a list and will return the #N/A error when a value is not found. You can use this behavior to build a formula that returns "Missing" or "OK" by testing the result of MATCH with the ISNA function. ISNA returns TRUE only when it receives the #N/A error.

In Microsoft Excel, I have used many different solutions to compare lists. Sometimes the solution finds duplicates across one or more columns; sometimes the solution focuses on finding unique values. But what if you want to compare two sets of data in Excel to determine if a record is missing from one of the sets?

You can save an Excel file in various formats, like spreadsheet, text, webpage, and more. However, at times, saving the spreadsheet in a different format may lead to missing data. For example, when you save a workbook to a text file format, all formulas and calculations applied to the data will be lost.

Note: This solution works for text only. You cannot use it to merge formulas or any numerical values. If you need to combine two or more cells with formula into a single cell, try using the Excel CONCAT function.

First of all thank you for your great statistic pack.I also had the problem with the disappearing functions of the RealStat package even if i was shown in the add in toolbar.I solved it by making a new folder in the location where the solver and the other add ins were located. I put the real stat excel sheet in this folder. It was for win10 with excel 2019 the only thing which worked for me.

Hello Charles,I just recently seeing your excellent Real Statistics package.I tried it in Excel 2010 without problems but when I tried it on a Mac I can not get the data analysis tool. The Ctrl-m does not work in my case. If you have any suggestion I would appreciate.
