Conflict in a relationship happens... In trying to meet our needs, and those of our partner, we struggle with the right things to do or say. Yet, the actual needs and feelings of our partner may not be as clear to us as we think, setting our relationship up for increased demands. Couples don’t have disorders, they’re just two humans with differing goals and needs that are not easily understood or articulated by one’s partner. An An important component of couples therapy, and counseling, will be to understand negative patterns of behavior, reduce conflict and develop a greater depth of understanding of our partner's needs.
